Best Dental Experience of My Life!
“The process was ridiculously simple. Dr. Alder adjusted a few things that required no anesthetic and then he took an impression. About a week later I was shown a model of what my teeth would look like. The actual seating of the veneers took no more than 40 minutes – 10 veneers. Overall I’d say it was one of the best dental experiences of my life. I went from barely ever smiling to showing off my teeth in less than two weeks – talk about a life changer.”

Custom Veneers in Newport Beach Made Specifically for Your Smile
Porcelain veneers are ultra-thin sheets of porcelain, permanently bonded to your teeth. In a short amount of time these veneers can provide a new, clean, straight profile for your smile. A smile is unique like a fingerprint and while we may work to improve it, we still want your smile to remain natural and “you”. Each porcelain veneer is custom-cut to fit the shape of your natural teeth and Dr. Alder will also match the bonding cement and porcelain exactly to the shade of the surrounding teeth. When done well, no one will be aware that you have veneers, they’ll just think you’ve been adorned with a great smile.
Protecting Your Porcelain Veneers Investment
The good news with regard to porcelain veneer care is there’s no need to change anything with your oral hygiene regimen, given that it was good to begin with. Brushing and flossing between your veneers works just as it did with your natural teeth. You will, however, want to watch out for a few daily habits that could be harmful to your new veneers such as nail biting, ice chewing and teeth grinding. Basically, you will want to avoid putting excessive stress on your veneers, as this could damage them. You may also want to examine what habits you may have that involve staining agents. Even though porcelain veneers will not stain easily, you may want to decrease your consumption of coffee and tea, balsamic vinegars and tobacco products. Are You A Candidate for Porcelain Veneers?
There are a few patient types for which we would not recommend porcelain veneers. These would include those with severe tooth decay, chronic gum disease or people who grind their teeth at night. Chronic gum disease could cause your gums to recede after veneers have been placed, which would create a gap between your gum and the veneers. Perpetual teeth grinding can cause veneers to chip, crack, or even become dislodged, which is why we do not recommend veneers for patients who are nightly teeth grinders. At Newport Beach Dental we begin the veneer process with a thorough dental exam to ensure that both your teeth and gums are healthy.
